Testing Area

Strong Floor

The strong floor is a 25 x 52 foot testing facility located on the lower level of the Science and Engineering Hall. This four-foot reinforced concrete platform includes 338 coupler fixtures distanced at two feet and designed to carry 150 kilo pounds of vertical tension force. The couplers are detailed to fasten #18 post-tensioning rebars to secure experimental specimens and testing hardware.

Strong Wall

The strong wall is a vertically post-tensioned reinforced concrete wall designed to secure and support testing hardware and lateral load applied to the system. It is four feet thick, 28 feet high and 40 feet wide with through holes distanced at two feet vertically and horizontally.
